Since so few copies of this book are still in existence it is difficult to know much about the first edition’s qualities. According the copy shown on my “The Book” page there are are only four original copies left. Springfield Museum holds one rare copy, which has been rebound in “19th century style with gold-stamped purple leather and simulated tied spline. Marbelized end papers”
